Paperback — $30.00 · Crime Thriller — The First Detective Arbee Novel · Published January 26, 2025
Rat Insider is the first Detective Arbee novel. A missing boy, brutal murders in Brooklyn, and a psychopathic serial kidnapper whom the FBI, Secret Service, and police cannot outsmart bring Arbee to New York, where he and Secret Service supervisor Sarah Benson form an unusual suspense triangle with killer Pat Willis — and a forbidden attraction ignites at the worst possible time.
The novel that launched the series, Rat Insider introduces Arbee in full: relentless, unorthodox, and impossible to intimidate. Burgos braids procedural authenticity with romantic tension and a killer who seems to read the investigation’s mind. It remains the essential starting point of the Arbee saga — where the legend begins, and where the city’s darkest game first takes shape.
